Children Amidst Pandemic: Their Rights Should Be The Highlight!

The current Covid-19 pandemic has brought us so many circumstances that we have not, in living memory, experienced before. The impact of the outbreak is so widespread and in some places, very catastrophic. No doubt, the pandemic has grounded and strained us all. The Covid-19 pandemic that struck us holds nothing but painful memories and nightmares - locked down schools, places, and as well as the freedom and rights of every child seeking out for a propitious and serene youth. It is very heart-breaking to see that the children now, who are supposed to be playing out there and enjoying their childhood, got their youth shattered into pieces because of a deadly pandemic. However, being affected by this pandemic doesn’t mean to stop looking and assessing for their rights. But rather, it means to highlight and prioritize the rights especially those who are affected by it the most.

In connection to that, this November as we celebrate National Children’s Month intending to focus on every child’s rights under the new normal, let’s bring it to life for the children. Children’s month is a time where we respect and give value to every child and their rights. It is where we celebrate and promote their physical, emotional, moral, spiritual, and intellectual well-being. It is a campaign to end violence against children and to provide them safety and a healthy life. They have the right to be loved and protected; there is a need for us to stand and fight for their rights.

The future of this world is in the hands of the youth. It is said that they have the power to save and change this world. If we don’t prioritize them, what will happen to our world in the future? It is our major responsibility to protect, educate, and acknowledge them. While they are still young, we must shower them with affection and knowledge. There is a crucial role for us to give them a blissful life. Mankind owes to a child the best it has to give.

The Covid-19 pandemic must not stop us from assessing and prioritizing the rights of every child. Even if the situation we are facing right now is hard, there is still a need to shower them with love and care. No matter what happens, the rights of the children should not be disregarded. They are the future of this world. Protect, love, and help every child. NO CHILDREN SHOULD BE LEFT BEHIND!
